Description
Cottonwood Fractal - leafless cottonwood silhouette mirrored twice
A fractal is a complex mathematical thing, but in simple terms, is a pattern that is self-similar (repeats itself) at many different size scales. As I observed the silhouette of a large and leafless cottonwood tree off my back deck this evening, its fractal nature struck me, so I photographed it and the mirrored it in x and y to increase the "fractaliciousness".
Image captured 12/14/23 with Pentax K-1 and Rokinon 135mm lens (highest resolution glass in my collection, so you'll find you can print this image LARGE!!)
